Your Hands

As I walk into this week of Easter I humbled. I reflect on the Majesty of God and how He became flesh for us. He created us for relationship with Him. Communion with Him.
No matter what we've done or what we do......the forgiveness that we request is given. Nothing can grasp us from the hand of God.

I heard this song the other day and was immediately put to tears. Not because of anything that is going on in my life, but because of what God has done for me int he past and what He promises to do in the future.

At work on Saturday I heard 3 different heart breaking stories of tragedy. And all I could think was.... One day He will make all things right.
Here are the lyrics :-) Enjoy!

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn't there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
That You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Yea, one day You will set all things right

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave You when...

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave...
I never leave Your hands

Book Review- Big Honkin' Book of Grub

Ok.....so the title should say enough :-X I picked this book out to do a review on simply because I thought it was a cookbook. Because somewhere in my silly little brain I thought it would be fun to do a cookbook review. Well, little did I know that this book is NOT a cookbook (though it does have some recipes in it). I feel kind of bad giving a negative review on something.....well not really.
If you read my last blog you will understand that we are attempting to eat healthier (like by planting a garden :-) We are trying to be more aware of the things that we put in our bodies and we are trying to take care of ourselves a little more. So....when I open a book and one of the first things I see (at the end of the table of contents) is "All the fat is the Lord's....." Leviticus 3:16 . I knew I had picked out an interesting book. As a pressed on through the book I was grossed out. One section (pg.38) is titled "The Hot Dog". Please let me take just a second and quote a little bit out of this section.
The egg may be incredible. Honey may be a virtual fountain of youth. But we admire the hot dog. The hot dog is an unapologetic food. It doesn't have to tell you what all is inside of it. It figures beef, pork, chicken, or turkey is all the information you need to go on. It can lie there on its bun and dare you to take a bite of it. It's a proud food. It is, in fact, the perfect food.

On that note I will leave you with one star, because that is all I can give it. And honestly I am only giving that star because I would feel really bad giving it 0 stars. :-)

There were many other sections on restaurants, church dinners, food, food and more food. I wish it had been a book on moderation or on enjoying or favorites in a healthy way. But it wasn't.

Gardening???

So today I began the first steps of our first garden. And......those first steps are sitting in my dining room on a portable table in the corner :-) We are starting small with herbs first and then a hanging basket of tomatoes. Of all the wonderful things that I have done with our family THIS ranks way up on the list for me. IN the next weeks I will plot out the piece on yard we will use and then do one of two things : #1 Buy soil bags and lay them out as the actual garden be. You slice them open and stab holes in them. The you plant your seeds.
or
#2 Get some tool I don't know how to use and flip flops, a ball cap and some dingy clothes I will go diggin. and then plant.

I don't know but THIS IS SO MUCH FUN! The kids are so excited that they can't stand it. So right now we are watching and waiting for spouts to come. In the mean time I have a garden to build.

As I go through all of this I see so many teachable spiritual moments. I can't wait to be out in the yard digging through the dirt talk about the parable of the sower. Or How God will supply all of our needs. Or how salsa is HOLY food because it comes straight from the garden (aka God's hands)

So fun ....can wait to conitinue to share.

Easter is coming

We are a little over 2 weeks from Easter. It seems like God is doing something amazing around us. There are so many "God things" going on that I feel almost overwhelmed. I kind of feel like I am at a dessert buffet full of all my favorites and someone handed me a little bitty kid plate. Don't you hate it when you are handed a plate that is too small to fit all your favorites?

There is so much going on that I feel like I am struggling to breathe and take it all in. It all kind of started with an great weekend with a handful of ladies (2400 :-). We were at Going Beyond Priscilla Shirer and her brother Anthony Evans led worship. I will try not so sound silly...but let me tell you.....WOW! What a weekend. Not only is she SO gifted and anointed as a speaker, but she is REAL and transparent. And worship.....well...Anthony Evans is my new favorite worship leader. And not for only His voice but for his heart. We were told to WAKE UP! stop sleepwalking through your life and embrace where God has placed you. You are not where you are by accident, but by divine placement and purpose.

We came home on Saturday went to sleep and then showed up at church only to witness God breaking 1000 in attendance. What an unbelievable Sunday! We came away from church SO on fire for what God is doing in our community. We are constantly humbled that God would allow us to be a part of the adventure of Lifepoint!

As we walk into the weeks before Easter God has laid a heavy burden on my heart! So I write to ask you to pray:
#1 For what God is going to do in the coming weeks.
#2 For the names that He is laying on our hearts to pray for and invite
#3 That TRUTH would penetrate the hearts of people who are Far From God.
#4 The names that God has placed on my heart ~R and ~D that God would rocked their world and they would see that He is the only thing that will fill the hole in their hearts.

Arrived!!

Yesterday was a crazy day! Full of running errands and screaming kids. By the time we got home I just needed silence. I told them no TV, no computer, no Wii, no Leapsters (you get the picture). That order was followed by screaming and falling on the floor (because apparently the world ends if you turn the tv off :-0 ) That lasted for about 3 minutes and then I remembered ......there was a delivery that had come earlier. So I put on my super"mom" cape and flew down the hall to get the package. I threw off the wrapping and began taring the box open with my teeth....ok just kidding! But I was pretty excited that our Mega Magz were finally here! So I opened the box and laid out all the pieces. It is 130 pieces of classic magetic bars and steel balls. Simply put....the bars and balls join together to create all kinds of cool things. And like a gift from heaven SILENCE reigned down on my home ( Can you hear the angels singing Lalalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!) The kids played for hours. (and right now as I type they are back playing with them again.)

My only caution is the size of the bars and balls. The box warns for 4 and older......for a reason. They are a big time choking hazard. But thankfully my little ones are big enough to enjoy them safely.
This wonderful gift arrived from a great online company called CSN. They have 200+ websites to shop from. To name a few www.allchildrensfurniture.com www.csnbaby.com, www.cookware.com, www.allmodern.com
Basically anything you could need....kids bedding....cookware.....baby stuff....they have a site for. The support has been great and they are all very friendly. So next time you don't want to drag the kiddos out or you feel like shopping online is the easier way to go.....check them out :-)

Ok gonna run play with the kids! Have a great day.

God Moving

First Haiti, then Chile, and now Turkey. As our hearts have been broken over the past weeks I can't help but wonder what God is up to. I know that He stands outside of time and sees everything that ever was and will be, so b/c of that I trust.

When I read yesterday about the earthquake in Turkey I was deeply saddened. Turkey has such a rich biblical history but it is so dark and lost. My prayer yesterday was that God would use the earthquake to help raise the veil. Satan has blinded this country with lies from another religion....lies that are so thick and embedded in their culture that only the truth of Christ can break through it all.

All day yesterday this song was running through my head all day!

Especially when it gets to the part about.....
When the lost began to sing of Jesus Christ the Risen Lord.
And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord.

Maybe all these recent Earthquakes are "God's punishment" or "Judgement" or whatever else people want to call it..... Maybe just maybe... it is God Moving.

And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Sneak Peak CSN stores

Wow having 4 kids can sometimes be wild and crazy. Sometimes I enjoy getting out of the house and venturing out to do my shopping. But other times it is just too much. I have found a convient place to shop online that has everything! No matter what my shopping needs....this place seems to have it. Things like Kids Bedding, toys, cooking supplies, and curtains to name a few. They have it all. CSN is a collection of over 200 stores. They are sponsoring a review of this product here on my blog. YAY!! for us because we get the fun opportunity to play with this and then tell all of you about it.
Coming soon I will let you know how our new toy works out for us. Barron and Peyton love to build and create things so I think the Mega Magz will be a huge hit.
